MedStar National Rehabilitation Network’s outpatient speech-language pathologists all hold the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and are licensed in the jurisdiction in which they practice. 

 

Meet Our Staff

Breanne Reynolds, MS, CCC-SLP has worked at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network since 2012, most recently working at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, Mitchellville since 2013.  She received her undergraduate training at the University of Maryland and her graduate training at Loyola University Maryland.  She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex adult neurological cases involving speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.  She has a particular interest in aphasia treatment, specifically the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia, as well as the management of motor speech disorders. She is a certified LSVT LOUD practitioner. 

Brooke Hatfield, MS, CCC-SLP has been with MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, Irving Street since 1998. Areas of specialty include aphasia, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), LSVT LOUD! services, cancer rehabilitation, and post-concussion management. She received her undergraduate degree from Miami University and master’s degree from Vanderbilt University.

Brownrigg Snow, MS, CCC-SLP has worked at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network since 2003, most recently working at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, McLean since 2013. She received her undergraduate training at the University of Virginia and her graduate training at James Madison University. She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex neurological cases involving speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. She has a particular interest in treating aphasia and cognitive-communication disorders due to TBI and post-concussion syndrome in both adult and pediatric populations.

Emily Gibson, MS, CCC-SLP has worked at the MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, Irving Street since 2004; 6 years in acute rehabilitation and 4 years in outpatient rehabilitation. She received her undergraduate training at the University of Maryland, College Park and her graduate training at the University of the District of Columbia. She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex neurological cases involving motor speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders. She has a particular interest in the treatment of cognitive-communication disorders with an emphasis on community reentry as well as swallowing disorders.

Janice Coles, MS, CCC-SLP has worked at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network since 1993 as a senior speech-language pathologist, most recently working at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, McLean since 2015.  She received her undergraduate training and graduate training at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.   She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex neurological cases involving speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.  She has a particular interest in post-concussion syndrome, aphasia group treatment, motor speech production disorders, clinical ethics and quality of life. 

Jennifer Ryder, MA CCC SLP, began her SLP career at MedStar NRH and practiced as an inpatient therapist between 1996 and 2006.  Between 2007 and 2014, she worked at the National Institutes of Health with medically complex patients.  Upon her return to NRH Rehabilitation Network, Montrose in 2014, she transitioned to outpatient SLP services.  She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts from Colby College in Waterville, Maine in 1990 and her Master’s of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the George Washington University in 1996.  She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex neurological cases involving speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.  She has particular interest in the management of individuals with traumatic brain injury.

Jessica Parker, MA, CCC-SLP has worked at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network since 2006, most recently working at NRH Rehabilitation Network, Olney since 2012. She received her undergraduate training at the Pennsylvania State University and her graduate training at the George Washington University. She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex neurological cases involving speech, language, cognitive-communication, swallowing and voice disorders. She is certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) and has a particular interest and experience in the treatment of aphasia and brain injury.

Julie Rowlett, MS, CCC-SLP received her undergraduate training at the University of Georgia and completed her graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Julie began her career at Medstar NRH Rehabilitation Network in 2002.  In 2005, she moved to New York where she worked as a senior SLP at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ.  Julie rejoined the NRH team in 2008 and has been working since that time at NRH Rehabilitation Network,  Olney.   She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of complex neurological cases, involving speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.  Julie has been LSVT LOUD! certified since 2009 and has extensive experience working with patients with Parkinson's Disease and their families.  She has a particular interest in serving patients with aphasia and traumatic brain injury in the settings of individual treatment, group therapy and family training. 

Lauren Viola, MA, CCC-SLP has worked at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, Irving Street since 2013.  She received both her undergraduate and graduate training in Communicative Disorders and Sciences at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  She specializes in the evaluation and management of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders that result from stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other medical conditions.  She is currently part of the MedStar NRN Transitions Neurological Day Treatment Program and has a particular interest in group treatment, community reintegration and quality of life.

Patricia Fletcher, MS, CCC-SLP is the Director of the outpatient Speech-Language Pathology Service at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network.  She has worked at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network since 1989.  She received her undergraduate training in Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland and her graduate degree in Communication Disorders  from Syracuse University.  She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex adult neurological cases involving  speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. She has a particular interest in treating higher level cognitive-communication disorders, including mTBI and concussion. 

Rohini J Rao, MA, CCC-SLP, has worked at Medstar NRH Rehabilitation Network since 2009. She began her tenure on the inpatient brain injury team, later transitioning to the outpatient setting, splitting her time between the clinics at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, Irving Street and Leisure World. She received her bachelor's degree from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing and her master's degree from Northwestern University. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of disorders affecting speech, language, cognition and swallowing in adults and is LSVT certified. Her special area of interest is treating cognitive deficits in adults with brain injuries and creating innovative strategies to help patients return to work/school.

Suzanne Redmond, MA, CCC-SLP first joined the MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network in 1999, most recently working at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network, McLean since 2013.  She received her undergraduate and graduate training at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  She specializes in the evaluation and management of complex neurological cases involving speech, language, cognitive-communication and voice disorders.  She has a particular interest in aphasia group treatment, Parkinson’s disease and voice disorders.

Yvette McCoy, MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S,  is an outpatient SLP at NRH Rehabilitation Network, Waldorf.  She has over 23 years experience treating adult neurological communication disorders with a particular interest in dysphagia.  She is a board certified specialist in swallowing and swallowing disorders, MBSimp registered clinician, member of ASHA and Dysphagia Research Society.  She also serves on the Adult Services Committee for Maryland Speech-Language and Hearing Association, as well the Website and Public Relations Committee for Dysphagia Research Society.
