Our newly designed hand clinic specializes in the treatment of the hand and upper extremity during acute phase of injuries, pre and post-operative care, and worker's compensation clients. Our hand therapy specialists now share their clinic with the MedStar Georgetown Orthopaedic Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center physicians and specialists so we can provide continuum of care on-site to better meet the needs of our patients.

Rehabilitation Services


The hand therapy services at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network centers are specially designed for persons with:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve compression disorders
  • Cumulative trauma and overuse disorders, including tendinitis
  • Trauma to the hand, including lacerations, crush injuries, and fractures
  • Post-operative reconstructive procedures, including joint replacements for arthritis
  • Repetitive motion disorders in the upper extremities
