Our hand clinic specializes in the treatment of the hand and upper extremity during acute, sub-acute, and chronic phases of injuries, pre- and post-operative care, and workers' compensation clients. Our hand therapy specialists share their clinic with the MedStar Georgetown Orthopaedic Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center physicians and specialists. This arrangement allows us to provide a seamless care experience to better meet your needs.

Rehabilitation Services

 

The hand therapy services at MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network centers are specially designed for persons with:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve compression disorders
  • Cumulative trauma and overuse disorders, including tendinitis
  • Trauma to the hand, including lacerations, crush injuries, and fractures
  • Post-operative reconstructive procedures, including joint replacements for arthritis
  • Repetitive motion disorders in the upper extremities

Rehabilitation Specialists

Carly is an occupational therapist at OCOR HAND CLINIC and specializes in the treatment of hand, wrist and elbow injuries; she is pursuing her certification as a hand therapist (CHT). Carly joined our group in June 2016 after working in an outpatient clinic outside Philadelphia.

  • Carly received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Stony Brook University (SUNY)
  • She completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University
  • She currently specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, including
    • Post-Fracture Management
    • Tendon and Nerve Injuries/Repairs
    • Overuse Injuries and Tendinopathies, including tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and DeQuervain's
    • Splinting and Custom Orthosis Fabrication

Erin is an occupational therapist at OCOR HAND CLINIC and specializes in the treatment of hand, wrist and elbow injuries; she is pursuing her certification as a hand therapist (CHT). Erin joined our group in January 2019 after working in an outpatient clinic in Baltimore for two years.

  • Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Delaware
  • She completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University
  • She currently specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, including
    • Post-Fracture Management
    • Tendon and Nerve Injuries/Repairs
    • Overuse Injuries and Tendinopathies, including tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and DeQuervain's
    • Splinting and Custom Orthosis Fabrication

Hallie is an occupational therapist at the OCOR HAND CLINIC and specializes in treatment of hand, wrist and elbow injuries. Hallie joined our group in 2019 after working in a variety of inpatient/outpatient OT settings. Hallie has an interest in pursuing certification as a hand therapist (CHT).

  • Hallie received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and worked in professional sports before pursuing a career in occupational therapy.
  • She completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Florida
  • She currently specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, including
    • Post-Fracture Management
    • Tendon and Nerve Injuries/Repairs
    • Overuse Injuries and Tendinopathies, including tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and DeQuervain's
    • Splinting and Custom Orthosis Fabrication

Jeff is the clinic director and hand therapist at the OCOR HAND CLINIC and specializes in treatment of hand, wrist and elbow injuries.

  • Jeff received his Bachelor of Science – Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University
  • He has been an Occupational Therapist for over 25 years and has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 1999.
  • While originally from the Midwest, he has been at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network as clinic director of the OCOR Hand Clinic since 2014.
  • Before that he helped develop Hand Therapy programs at the University of Virginia and in South Bend, Indiana.
  • Jeff has a strong interest in passing on his experience not only to patients, but also to young therapists looking to join the profession.
  • He currently specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, including

    • Advanced Upper Extremity prosthetics
    • Overuse Injuries and Tendinopathies, including tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and DeQuervain's
