Foreign Language Interpreters

Language interpreters are available to assist you in communication with hospital staff, at no cost to you. Your family or friends may be used as interpreters only at your request.

Inpatients: Our admitting team will be aware of your language needs and language interpretation services will be available.

Outpatients: Please ask the clinic manager or coordinator to arrange language interpreting services.

Sign-Language Interpreters

Registered sign-language interpreters are available to assist with communication with your health care team, at no cost to you. Your family or friends may be used as interpreters only at your request. Assistive devices will be available to facilitate communication, as needed.

Inpatients: The Care Coordination Office will coordinate the sign language interpretation services. Their number is: 202-877-1642.

Outpatients: If you require a sign language interpreter, the clinic staff will make arrangements with the Outpatient Administrative Coordinator to provide such services.
